Art and images from the wonderfully trippy Treehouse of Horror VI segment, “Homer Cubed” (1995).
Concept art by Kay Nielsen for the “Night on Bald Mountain” sequence from Disney’s FANTASIA (1940).
1959 British art photos of the Japanese sci-fi movie, The Mysterians (1957).
KING KONG (1933) concept art by Willis O’Brien, Byron Crabbe, and Mario Larrinaga.
Some more (concept) art from that wonderful GREASE intro. It’s the perfect intro sequence, isn’t it: it draws you in, it sets the tone, and it’s a piece of art onto itself.
(My tweeting is a little erratic these days because I’m in the middle of a few life changes.)
DePatie-Freleng cartoon, THE BLUE RACER (1972-74). A forgotten cartoon? It was popular in the 80s, when I grew up, forming a block with the Pink Panther and The Ant and The Aardvark, also DePatie-Freleng characters. It was quite funny I remember.
