The West Point Coat of Arms was first approved on Oct. 8, 1898. In 1923, the design was modified. (see thread for the modifications) Older versions of the Coat of Arms can be seen, carved into buildings. (note - they weren't all consistent) 🧵

Sorry for adding a second, but these two captivate me as well: two haunting paintings by Austrian painter Albin Egger-Lienz (1868–1926). The first is "The Nameless" (1916), the second is "Toter Soldat" (1918)
