Last week I came across Jiménez Aranda shocking portrayal of a Slave Girl for sale (1892-1897). Seated on a mat or carpet at an oriental market. Her head lowered. Men all around her 😩 The sign is said to read “Rose of 18 yrs, for sale 800 coins”.

#TheWhiteLotus is set in #Sicily at the #VillaTasca #Palermo. The frescoes have been altered from the original villa with the opening credits incorporating glimpses of Greek Mythology. Oh and the music 😍
