Digital patterning in 5 steps!
I use 3d models to draw my own vector files for my @flux3dp Beambox lasercutter and create my cosplay armor!
@AndyH_3D i only use that method for high res meshes, i often rebuild extracted game meshes for low resolution patterns for pepakura, in which i prefer to clean up with quads
I use crease tool to think about the pattern seamlines before exporting it
Prop idea for my mewtwo cosplay: Paint an orb with vantablack and create moving lightning around it with two alternating circuits of EL wire with battery stored in the orb🤔
My main subject in the stream will be about my Safi Jiiva armor project, which is going to be 90% lasercut with intricate details 😍
I just started assembling the skirt:
Simplified 3d model on the left, which is then unfolded and then detailed SVG patterns are traced by hand in illustrator!
I need 77 of these panels for just the skirt so the lasercutter is saving me so much time for just 2 unique pattern pieces
Made the armor fit to my bodyscan model, here's a screenshot instead of a dirty laptop screen photo (yeah my laptop's seen some shit)
I'm going to build a simplified 3d model now on top of the major shapes, so I can create foam patterns with pepakura!
