But still Luz goes to get Amity her job back.

Not because she thinks it'll win Amity's favor again (she already let herself believes that Amity hates her), but because Luz is a good person who wants to fix a mistake for a person she loves.

That's just my interpretation though!

She's heartbroken, and she's trying to keep a smile to save face and make a joke of it, but she's failing and knows it.

She believes that she lost the friendship of someone she loves because of her own goals, despite the fact that she gave Amity every chance to turn back. 5/6

We can speculate from the "And I'd understand if you'd never want to see me again" line from later in the episode that Luz expects Amity to hate her for what happened, even if she already got back her job for her. 3/6
