Urban sketchers meet regularly to draw their surroundings. This can involve a lot of tea getting drunk, as here in the café under St John's Episcopal Church Edinburgh (great salads!). We didn't want to go outside..it was raining.
.@LemboRes is researching me, poor thing. As part of this we're exchanging art -she's sent me a piece of her music, which has inspired me to send her this:
Chinese PhD Students at Sister Bao, Edinburgh's only Chinese bun restaurant - he's doing electronics, she's doing engineering
I was watercolour painting in Stockbridge, where people actually stop to say hello and have a peek. 'Oh wet on wet' says rather Scots lady 'I've near dared try that, how difficult'. Hadn't the heart to tell her it wasn't, it was a crap brush with too much water on it.
Cafe 33 Stockbridge Edinburgh with lovely student from Venice who insisted on moving just as I started to draw her....she says she's longing to see her family again
Cafe 33 Stockbridge Edinburgh, with excellent Portuguese custard tarts and a choice of iced coffee
So how many people DOES it take to water the raised bed? STAND at the Kennoway community Shed
It will rain later, so I've pre-emptied things by chucking a load of water over the paper anyway.
