Evolution of Windows Mobile's default wallpapers (specifically the Pocket PC version), from Pocket PC 2002 to 5.0.

Evolution of WebTV/MSN TV's home page from 1996 to 2001. This didn't run Windows CE unlike MSN TV 2, but Microsoft bought WebTV in 1997 and eventually Microsoft-ified it.

The MSN TV 2 was released in 2004, as a Windows CE-based successor to MSN TV/WebTV devices. I honestly dig its aesthetic, feels rather close to some elements of Longhorn at the time.

For the first time, Microsoft are making the wallpapers 3840x2400 rather than 1920x1200.

Turns out Microsoft New Zealand had a winter version of that New Zealand Bliss wallpaper, along with a Queen's Birthday 2005 version (haven't found it in desktop res yet). This is a rabbit hole I wasn't expecting to go down.
