Chapter books for KS1 often play on laughs. Whilst this is fine, wonderfully written books that provoke discussion & tackle more serious issues are crucial. The Climbers and the Orange Sellers chapter in Anna Hibiscus both do this beautifully @_Reading_Rocks_ #readingforpleasure

If you ever get the chance to go to the stunning Watts Chapel in Compton, do go. The plain exterior hides a treasure within and you will wander into what is, for me, an enchanting wander into a tiny realm of the wood elves.

I’ve managed to track down a very old copy of Charley, Charlotte and the golden canary by Charles keeping and it is an absolutely joy. The illustrations sing with colour. Lovely, relevant story too. How is this stunning book out of print? @Mat_at_Brookes @_Reading_Rocks_
