And as a gift since everyone was so kind sharing sweet photos today, here’s my favorite memes I was sent today for my surgery.
At the end of 2016/2017, I began doing color studies and taking pieces to final. I started doing more abstract stuff in my environments, and briefly came back to traditional art and saw vast improvements.
At the same time in 2015/2016, I was doing more environments and finding comfort in them. I finally started doing things more inline with what I liked at the time.
In 2015/2016, I gave reference another chance, but I refused to trace anything for a learning tool because I was so scared because my 'peers' discouraged it.
I started getting into fan art around this time.
In 2014, I started to digitally paint more and gravitated towards environments - I felt like I didn't need references for them and so it was more comfortable for me without the fear of someone thinking I 'cheated'.
I've been going through old art and I thought I would share my progress over the years, especially before and after using reference, joining the Arkane art team, and so on.
Starting in 2013, I primarily did traditional art with speedball ink and water. (No reference)
In honor of spooky month, my favorite demon ladies I've ever painted.
@JenLocke95 @HazelMonforton @velocciraptor This is how I’m trying to be if I’m honest 😂
