Fright Night ('85)

'I have just been fired because nobody wants to see killers anymore, or vampires either. Apparently, all they want to see are demented madmen running around in ski-masks, hacking-up young virgins.'

Fist of Fury ('72)
⭐️⭐️⭐️½
When I was a kid I loved films (I still do) & the woman at the video store asked me if I liked films because my mum was always renting me MA films. I hadn't seen any. So the next time I came to the store, the lady

Raising Cain ('92)
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Caught this on TV one night in my teens & loved it. Eventually I bought it on dvd but never re-found that magic. I now own it on blurary & I'm still searching for that feeling. Not as good as my memory suggested.

Scream, Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street ('19)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
After rewatching the ANOES films, I moved on to the And this one about is genuinely one of the best I've watched this year. Had wet eyes. So much more than I was expecting.

Eye of the Beholder ('99)
⭐️⭐️½
I used to see this all the time in the video shop when I was a kid, & even though I was a huge fan, the artwork was so unappealing I never bothered renting the film. Seems the film lives up to the bad VHS cover. Meh.

Man Down ('15)
⭐⭐½
Ah, the infamous film that sold one £7 ticket in the UK upon its release. I hope someone tracked that person down for an article. Would like to read their thoughts. Can't say I was a fan, glad I didn't waste £7 on a cinema trip.

Rock the Kasbah ('15)
⭐⭐
Dir reminds me of Reiner, multiple classics early on, followed by a steady decline in quality of projects. The only reason I watched this rock-comedy was for the cameo. The whole film is a bit of a carcrash.

The Hunger Games (Franchise)
⭐⭐⭐½
I watched the quadrilogy in one sitting and had a blast. I've not really seen many YA book adaptions, but the cast in the were too good to turn down. Each one is quality & overall an excellent series of films.

Black Butterfly ('17)
⭐⭐½
This was a weird one. It starts strong & while it's full of predictable twists & turns, you're still kinda hooked. & work well together, but there's one twist too many & it becomes a bit ridiculous
