The outlander's world view is black-and-white while the mercenary is morally gray. After living through the tragedy of losing his loved ones, the outlander simply can't coexist with the man behind the slaughter. The mercenary's moral code is flexible as long as people pay him

The dark priest values knowledge, his main goal is to pursue power through studying. Taking into account the fact that these characters live in Middle Ages, I doubt the outlander knows how to read
