March 10th: PERIPHERY V by Periphery
I've been a long-time sceptic of the Djent scene's acclaimed poster-child, with Periphery I through IV never quite captivating me, but I'm happy to say that by god, they've finally done it. Periphery V is a brilliant ride beginning to end. :)
March 1st: MYTH OF THE MOSTROPHUS by Ryo Okumoto
A kaiju as old as time awakens from its 100,000 year slumber to threaten the English town of Basingstoke. How does it end? You'll just have to listen to the song. A completely batshit, self-indulgent prog rock record. I love it.
February 28th: HYMN TO THE WOEFUL HEARTS by Pure Wrath [Images & Words AOTY Spreadsheet, Day 7]
Aaaaand back to mediocrity. This album had some really nice sections, but they were unfortunatelly spread in between several minutes of mediocre black metal riffage. Not my thing.
February 27th: THE FROZEN TRAIL by Hollow Decay [Images & Words AOTY Spreadsheet, Day 6]
An album I originally listened to in January but forgot to talk about. Surprisingly for a melo-death metal album, I really enjoyed it. It's like an Opeth album with a lot more synths.
July 28th - I started playing D&D again. After my original group faulted back in 2020 and my other groups fell through in 2021, I was invited to my friend Lily's group. It's nice to get back into the swing of things. (Pictured: my character in that campaign, Elly White)
@handsovereyes Here I was thinking that // was enough, I guess I was wrong
[HONOURABLE MENTION]
2009: Big Big Train - The Underfall Yard
(Home to my favourite BBT song and my tied favourite album of 2009. I need to visit the ACTUAL Underfall Yard at some point.)
2013: Haken - The Mountain
(Haken's landmark album and the one with that song about the cockroaches. It couldn't have been anything else.)
@ArisuAtLast alice is the best 2hu character and not just because she's 100% totally canonically from my home county (+ bonus doodle)
