John Augustus Otunba-Payne (1839- 1906)

Lawyer, Writer.

Born in Sierra Leone a Prince of the Gbelegbuwa Royal Family of Ijebu-Ode. The name Payne is an anglicized version of Adepeyin his original surname. He moved to Lagos in 1862 and started work as a Police clerk.
