thinking about how gigan has the same backstory as the stuff used by the combine in half-life; was once a normal ANIMAL from an alien planet but was engineered into a cyborg to be used as a weapon.. As edgy as the final wars redesign is, it gets that idea across better I GUESS.

a couple years ago tom king did a batman/elmer fudd one-shot comic where the looney tunes were gothamites, and his commitment to keep referencing it and keeping it in continuity with his larger batman stuff never ceases to astound me
