@inesvisual @izzicm Obvi the sameness can be demotivating to some, but the reason they do posters like these? They work! People WANT to see their favorites big & bright & focused on. Just bc it’s not an aesthetic doesn’t mean it’s not creative/easier. It’s not fear of trying, it’s knowing what sells

@inesvisual @izzicm Which you can still tout as an issue, like how people are claiming “the age of the movie star is dead!” But to say modern posters require less creativity is to ignore the impressive posters that ARE modern and ARE creative, even from big budget studios, like these.

@inesvisual @izzicm It wasn’t following a “modern and uncreative model,” the poster style was an homage to Drew Struzan’s designs. Obviously starpower was important for a lot of these films/shows, but so what? The posters are still dynamic and balanced and artistic, WHILE showing off the actors.

@izzicm @BOOBS_420_69 @narutosdurag @FAlRYPARK ST based their font off Stephen King books, like Needful Things/Firestarter. This poster's rad bc the font is a similar callback to retro horror, the poster seems to be paying homage to older horror posters, AND the text is interacting w the subject. Just cool design all around!
