However, I do feel like I took less risks w/ my backgrounds in 2020 (right). Compared to 2019 (left), my backdrops became a lot less detailed, or just used basic lines and shapes.
Granted, I’m still finding my digital footing, so that’s something to focus on for 2021.

However, once da’ lockdowns happened, I lost access to my school’s scanner, and was now stuck w/ my low-res home scanner.
With that, plus the fact that I now have the software to draw digitally at home, I decided “hey, maybe it’s time to shake things up”.

When I look at my work from the first half of 2019, nearly all my coloring was done w/ markers + pencil.
Even when I shifted to coloring digitally, I was still using a pencil + ink base; something I was still doing going into 2020 (ie - the Liger pic)
