🦖 Daily Dino 🦖; Giganotosaurus carolinii
From the Candaleros Formation of Argentina, this gargantuan predator could have rivaled T. rex in size. Its blade-like "shark teeth" were perfectly adapted to slice off sauropod flesh, though it didn't live alongside Argentinosaurus
🦖 Daily Dino 🦖; Wuerhosaurus homheni
An Early Cretaceous stegosaur from China, Wuerhosaurus is notable for surviving longer than most of its kind. Finding of broken back plates initially lead to reconstructions with flat, unusual plate shapes

🦖 Daily Dino 🦖; Stegoceras validum
From Late Cretaceous Alberta, Canada, Stegoceras is considered a more basal form of pachycephalosaurid. It's assumed that their sharp, serrated teeth were suited for a mixed diet of leaves, seeds, fruit and insects

🦖 Daily Dino 🦖; Banji long
From Late Cretaceous China, Banji differs from other oviraptorids in its unusually long nasal opening that followed the curve of the crest nearly to the eye socket. It was one of the many oviraptorids in its formation, hinting at niche partitioning
🦖 Daily Dino 🦖; Yutyrannus huali
It had to be 😂 From Early Cretaceous Yixian formation of China, this tyrannosauroid is the largest known dinosaur with direct evidence of feathering. At around 9 meters long, it's also quite large for an early tyrannosaur

Dromeosaurs extending their wings is peak aesthetic
(Arts by @JoschuaKnuppe and @Riamus01 )
The mutant bear from Annihilation is one of my favorite examples of a science fiction "scary" creature. It's also the reason why i believe real life anatomy is important even in fiction; you gotta know the rules so you can selectively break them in order to get the desired effect
🦖 Daily Dino 🦖; Acheroraptor temertyorum
From the famed Hell Creek formation, this dromeosaur would have been (alongside Dakotaraptor) one of the last of its kind on earth. Teeth previously assigned to Saurornitholestes and Dromeosaurus are now thought to be from Acheroraptor
What is it with bad JW app games (in this case one that literally got shut down) having great looking dinosaur designs?
🦖 Daily Dino 🦖; Santanaraptor placidus
A small theropod from Early Cretaceous Brasil with debated classification; some suggest it's South America's first known tyrannosauroid, others consider it a noasaurid.
It preserves scale impressions on the foot
