Sometimes I'm randomly reminded that this short series exists, and that makes me very happy.

I'm sure any professional background artist would be screaming at me if they saw this. I grant you, I'm not a background artist, but I really wanted to take a stab at actually making a rough, but fully rendered draft piece of Tenebris Throne and seating area.
Again, just a stab!

Built a tiny reference maquette for whenever I get the chance to sculpt this guy full size. Who knows when that'll be, but at least I got this far. Finer details aren't too important, so long the general shapes are in front of me.

Some rough concept doodles of a fun Sand Castle monster, the Nathrad. Winged beasts that patrol the skies of Fane, constantly on the lookout for something alive.

I'd like to come back and update them at some point, cause I still quite like the overall look and idea.

Got into a really nice call with some friends and we all had a nice drawing session.
Here's a Zep piece I had no intention of making a full render out of, but it kinda just happened lol.

Cel animation is just such a lost art. I hope one day a small studio with big dreams can revitalize it somehow for something great and ambitious. It really warms my heart to see more and more digital artists are trying to replicate the look in their work at least.

I'm just gushing over the way Don Bluth draws his monsters. I swear the older I get, the more inspired and influenced by the guy's wonderful aesthetic.
