I've been working on the Zokai spawning mechanics. Instead of each area have predetermined lists of Zokai that can appear, lists are generated based on the local climate, region, and biome. #gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

Gloomfry and Murkod are fish Zokai which live in muddy waters. Native Ozaurians use either fish hooks crafted from shell and bone, or wooden traps, to catch fish Zokai like these.

Witochre is a stone elemental Zokai. Powder can be harvested from its arms, which can be turned into a red or black paint that Native Ozaurians use on their bodies in ceremonies, and to paint on rocks and cave walls.
