I've been working on the Zokai spawning mechanics. Instead of each area have predetermined lists of Zokai that can appear, lists are generated based on the local climate, region, and biome. #gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

These rare and powerful dragons are found in long forgotten caves and other secluded places in the world.

Some particularly ancient Golderoth have managed to reach enormous size and unthinkable power levels. When Zokai reach this level, they are known as Grand Zokai.

Gloomfry and Murkod are fish Zokai which live in muddy waters. Native Ozaurians use either fish hooks crafted from shell and bone, or wooden traps, to catch fish Zokai like these.

Witochre is a stone elemental Zokai. Powder can be harvested from its arms, which can be turned into a red or black paint that Native Ozaurians use on their bodies in ceremonies, and to paint on rocks and cave walls.

I made some sand dunes for the game. It's really satisfying to run up and down them! But they were challenging to draw with my super limited palette and scale.

What do you think? Are they easily recognisable as sand dunes?
