@EurimcoP @NigFoot @awpersonal But baletanke certainly mainly worn beach Victorian times leather or satin (with hosiery). Also canvas leather or satin ankle boot flats I think had rubber soles. But I see nothing much like classic plimsolls for beach. Evidence baletanke called 'slippers' but 'extra heavy soles'
@EurimcoP @NigFoot @awpersonal That would explain why there are few Victorian pics with them actually on beach. Most appear to be ballet pumps leather. They do appear to have been used in white laced manifestation on promenade & for tennis etc.
Some stills of coat.

@1GarethWynJones @DaleVince We've had sheep my original nation Serbia 7 millenia. We still have wolf bear forest. Not so crop area. Crops problem not livestock. Livestock eat mainly forage grass & hay, plus waste proved by FAO. I support UK farmers not crazy ideas of people who don't understand agriculture
@FarmersOfTheUK London but from Serbia.
Family sheep farmers many generations.
I am big supporter wool & sheep farmers everywhere. My nation oldest known use of as textile 7 millenia ago. We still have forest wolf & bear these areas but not crop areas. I'd rather eat dirt than legumes & soya
