Some art from last year that I can finally reveal! Got commissioned by @Lord_Kristine to work on some character designs for their upcoming dinosaur novel #Velociraptor & #Protoceratops! First image is of the finalised colours and the latter two are some initial pattern variants.
Xmas doodle #5 and my last 2020 art! @fossilius & her favourite dino Diabloceratops! In honour of one of the coolest, most wholesome & supportive friends I've made this year. Keep up the amazing work Hillary! Palaeo is a much better & more welcoming of a field with folks like ya.
I'm quite proud of my Ichthyovenator & Oxalaia reconstructions. But I think when I find time I'm gonna redo them (yes, again!) for my planned size chart. My style has changed since then & I'd like to simplify things by not drawing scales that will hardly be visible in full view.
My third Xmas special, @Lord_Kristine with their OC Claire the Stegoceratops! A skilled writer & animator, kind friend, and all around just the coolest, I have them to thank for most of my commissions this year and for being so patient with my laziness. Happy B-day Kristine!! 💖
My first Christmas special: a festive portrait of the @PaleoRangers! A wonderful team of artists and palaeo/bio scicommers that have been a joy to meet and work with. These guys were basically my introduction to the online palaeo community and I wouldn't have it any other way.
@Lord_Kristine A guilty pleasure of mine has always been The Asylum's "Mega Shark vs" series. I've admittedly watched #2 & #3 more times than anyone reasonably should (which is zero), but they're just so damn absurd and over-the-top that I can't help it. 😅
@Formorphology I can't get enough of front-facing spinosaurids, lol. They're just so goofy and fun to draw.
Merry Christmas! 🎄🎁 Spino & Alioramus come with gifts. I'll be posting some art on this thread in the coming days dedicated to some wonderful artists and friends. 2020's been shitty for a lot of folks (to say the LEAST), so I wanted to give this year a send-off by giving (1/n)
