I think I first saw his work on the cover of Time magazine. It was either that Darth Vader image or a dog in a muzzle.
Bizarre and unnerving stuff back in the day. But the guy could do some really great conceptual work.

For a guy who only lived 37 years CYRUS CUNEO had amazing chops as a painter and illustrator.
The energy in his brushstrokes take some people a lifetime to master.

Finally, SERGEY KOLESOV, an artist who pushes shape and keeps it real. I just love what he does and can't get enough of it.

I think I was 14 when I got ahold of british creator DON LAWRENCE's Trigan Empire.
It harkened back to an era of painting that I really enjoyed...and he was doing it in comic book form.

Don't miss his ALEXANDER NEVSKY film. Especially with SERGEI PROKOFIEV's killer score.
When watching you realize how prescient it was with the rise of Nazis in Germany. Especially when you see the Teutonic helmets.

Whereas SANDY KOSSIN on the other hand was a damn animal. He'd try anything, and still it would read as his work.
I wonder how art directors felt about that when looking at his portfolio? I've not had much luck with variety.

British illustrator MICHAEL JOHNSON certainly had some chops. You can feel a little bit of McGinnis in his work but he still brings his skills to the table.
I primarily like his rough style and interesting compositions.

He handles charcoal like a real champ and loves painting muscles under stress; like boxers or laborers.
Just lovely work.
