you colored like alex, its nothing fancy but it gets the job done!
add some effects to really finish stuff off

step 7- add another layer of lighting that's on the rim of the location of the lighting on the character, it can be messy but not as messy as your room you were told to clean

step 6- add lighting (i use and add layer), a warm contrasting color from the shading like the light in your dark dark existence

step 5- add another layer of shading, this time focusing on areas that will be darker (like under the chin), make sure it isn't as dark as the bags under your eyes though
