tbqh this started as like. I just wanted to draw some plants in jars, and then I kept adding to it. and adding to it. and then adding more to it

a panel I cut out of a comic sequence, but decided to scribble away at anyway as a solo piece

so, to set the scene, it’s brutus and cassius, first night together after cassius returns from parthia, and the evening is going great so far--

agrippa and octavian

when the person you're going to follow for the rest of your life is prone to falling ill, you gotta make sure he stays warm, you know?

I generally don’t care for octavian bc I love conspirators and tyrant killers first and foremost, BUT I’ve had this image of a leyendecker inspired illustration of octavian with the head of brutus stuck in my head for ages now

and so

cassius and brutus, with the composition very loosely based on giulio romano’s painting, the lovers (it’s gone by various names) because to conspire is a seduction and conspiracy is to share a bed.

so.

as you can see----

if you're wondering how many different ways I can draw brutus and cassius just like. hanging out. before I get bored, the answer is: I can keep going forever, probably
