anyway, this is a redraw of ancient neopets art. i figured the season was appropriate.

i'm definitely nonbinary, people call me mags, they/he pronouns, and i mostly draw my silly vampire OCs 🦇

usually i make a point to pick a bat species that has the same kinda vibes as their human self!

so in this world, vampires kinda accidentally gave bats a bad rep, making humans think All Bats Drink Blood when in reality only actual vampire bats do

anyway here's helena as well

- born vampires will often get the classic vampire bat by default.
- the bat forms will keep all the disabilities of their human form, so rune here can barely see shit without his glasses and doesn't really like to be a bat.

then he discovered echolocation.

the ears start out relatively human-looking (but often pointy), growing slightly battier over time!

aaand the human appearance can directly affect the bat form as well, as seen here. blue bat. you're not fooling anyone, mort

for example, their bat form influences their human form and vice versa!!

you see their ears here, you can tell they're directly based on their bat forms
