5. Golden Kamuy 1 & 2: I once heard this described as “a bunch of dumb bottoms go traipsing through the woods hunting treasure.” GK is a truly masterful work that I believe everyone should see.

Tsurune: TBH I think everyone I talk anime with watched this, so y’all know what’s up. Sports anime that’s light on the sport and heavy on the character development. It’s beautiful and it made me cry and I’m in the middle of a rewatch.

3. Tonari no Kyuuketsuki-san: Hits a similar vibe as Maiddragon, with domestic monsters, but I find it hard to recommend coz there’s some uncomfortable jokes and the cast is sort of young. Overall though, it’s cute and lighthearted and I enjoyed it myself.
