Someday I want to revisit this game...I remember getting pretty far in Breath of Fire 3, but then my disc stopped reading, and I never really got back into it at any point but I remember it being pretty enjoyable, shame there hasn't been a sequel (or a good game) in a while

@AustinEruption Curious, have you ever played Psychic Force 2012 for the PSX/Dreamcast? I *feel* like it's something you've mentioned, but if not something I think that might interest you for the anime aesthetic and style of it. Seems like it would be up your alley.
