I think I might make this a DnD homebrew race. Not sure what kinda abilities they'll have. IT should be strength but ant's are only strong because they'er so small. They do have a great sense of smell.
A few other ideas:
A Giant beast with electric and ice powers along with a giant hammer.
A Small sweet looking cat that's incredibly strong and fast!
A burrowing and flying insect that can cast magic missile .
