✨It's STUDY BUDDIES night!✨
#StudyBuddies is an art study stream I run on Twitch every Monday & Friday. Every session has a theme and I provide the references! Come join in or just watch me paint 🙏

Some Humblewood paintings I like - easily one of my favourite settings to have worked on 🙏
Hey it's some amazing work from one of my mentees, @morlevart. Hire them for your TTRPG/book cover 🙏

@HarpyMaslow When I was pretty new to digital painting (I think 19?) to now 🙏
You'll notice a pretty big range of approaches in the studies I've shared - some have been greyscale, some loose, some detailed... That's the next important point: mix it up.
Value studies are great for breaking down an image into it's most important elements, for example.
Note that you can also study 2D and 3D animation! This is very similar to a regular film study, but can also incorporate graphical style and is a great exercise for learning how to adapt to a different project. Lighting and composition is often pushed super far in animation too.
