Kanto region faves, such a tough pick! This was the gen I started with, so to narrow it down, let's go with three I've almost always got in my party: Vulpix, Zubat, & Haunter

Ho-oh: the rainbow pokemon. I love this massive birb & my fave thing about HG was just being able to walk around towns with this good buddy just trailing around behind you
Xerneas: it's a rainbow fairy deer. what's not to love?
Articuno: Blizzard ;P

Dragonair: my fave dragon since I was a kid
Altaria: I just think they're neat
Latias: I really like the lore on this one

Dwebble: just a funky little rock crab
Sudowoodo: a rock that looks like a plant, yes. also that nostalgia from 2nd gen
Corsola: another friend for the 'I just think they're neat' club

Surskit: I just think they're neat
Volcarona: I ended up with one via a mystery trade and ended up really liking them
Galvantula: another friend discovered by mystery trade

Marowak: one of my faves since I was a kid
Nincada: I just think they're neat
Gastrodon: another in the I just think they're neat club

Plant pokemon are my weakness. I love them all.
Leafeon: plant + eevee = yes
Petilil: they're so cool and I love them
Cacnea: look at this precious cactus friend

Jolteon: spiky electric friend
Mareep: fluffy electric friend
Pikachu: I would walk the whole grid of Veridian Forest just to find one, so Pika-fam has to make the top 3

Psyduck: another childhood fave
Horsea: gotta love a sea horse, especially one that only becomes cooler and cooler
Primarina: pokemon has given me a mermaid and I'm here for it

Vulpix: my fave since I was a kid. I just love them.
Fennekin: another fire fox? yes please!
Typhlosion: best boi, shaped like a friend
