Here's the anime. In the first frame he just looks angry rather than just surprised. In the last one more like offended and nowhere near fearful (i would dare to say terrified) like in the manga.

24) Finally, Patlabor! And tbh I'm not a huge fan of the Ingram and other popular labors, but i gotta give it up for Type J-9:The Griffon. See for yourself, he looks like a black cockroach, or a Simulium blackfly... but mf is such a good looking robot.
