I loved the unique POVs of these MG books—a parrot, a gorilla, an imaginary friend. Writing from a perspective like this is a tall order, but when a writer gets it right it can be breathtaking. I’d love to find an incredible MG novel with a unique narrator! ✨ #MSWL

The story tackles colorism/internalized colorism head-on and explores these themes in a really magical + whimsical way through @VashtiHarrison's stunning illustrations. @SimonKIDS
