No hyperbole— this was among the best first issues I’ve read this year. Perfectly paced, beautifully depicted, and full of passion. It spoke to me.

This fabulous, outlasting idea of a series returns with arguably its strongest chapter yet! I really couldn’t have asked for more. Gorgeous and profound. I love comics.

I didn’t want to say goodbye, but this was the most satisfying ending I could’ve hoped for. Selina’s abundantly stylish equivalent of going off into the metaphorical sunset of Gotham’s rooftops. Regardless of what happens next— “there will always be strays.”

(539) - EXCALIBUR #26

Big fan of where things left off. I can now kinda see why there’s going to be a new volume? An engaging issue that manages to be a satisfying resolution to arcs that have been built up over the last two years while directly tying them into a new status-quo.

(505) - JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK 2021 ANNUAL

It felt so great to read a full-length JLD comic again. Mindscapes, bargains, a backwards walk through the universe— I love this stuff. The story is so elaborately insane that I couldn’t help but get swept up by the wonder of it all.

(442) - ADVENTUREMAN #6

A new arc! One that feels distinct from the last while still retaining everything that I know and love. There’s a lot of new things to see, but that’s part of the charm. It’s all the joy and excitement you could want from a comic universe in one story.

(407) - KA-ZAR: LORD OF THE SAVAGE LAND #2

Visually engrossing with plenty of relevancy to the present day, this is that reinvigorating jolt the Plunder family needed. I feel that their dysfunction worked better in #1, but the Savage Land’s potential as a locale has only grown.

(365) - AQUAMAN: THE BECOMING #1

This first issue RADIATES passion. It’s gorgeous, it’s heartfelt, I could go on. Everything great about DC and its themes of legacy? It’s all found here. Jackson Hyde’s in for quite the journey and I can’t wait to go on it right alongside him.

(229) - IRON MAN #10

Another great issue! Cantwell's voice for Tony is so great. His personality is no longer just a 1:1 of the MCU's. A flawed, but ultimately selfless individual that's given more introspection thanks to the mysterious Colony he finds himself a part of.

Running out of things to say about the Justice League Dark backup because it's consistently THAT good. The sweet, magical desert to the more explosive entree that is the main story.
