Nzinga-a-Nkuwu (João I), was the 5th ManiKongo of the Kingdom of Kongo between 1470 and 1509.
He was the King ruling Kongo when the Portuguese arrived in 1483.
He voluntarily converted to Roman Catholicism. He was baptized on 3 May 1491 and took the Christian name of João.
Africans also made a wide array of metallic items for (house, business, war, farming, construction, grooming etc). They made mirrors, knives, swords, spoons, razors, tweezers, shears, cutters, metallic weights, pins, pincers, scoops, needles, combs, scissors, vases, tongs etc.

Nyamwezi or Wanyamwezi of Tanzania🇹🇿 were described as generally industrious. They cultivated extensively, made cloths of cotton in their own looms, smelted iron and worked it up very expertly, and kept flocks and herds of considerable extent.
