sayuri and ayumu had a rocky start bc ayumu wanted to be a housewife once she marries sayuri's son, but sayuri wanted her to "aim higher". what sayuri soon learns tho, is how to respect one's choices, whether it's a housewife or a working lady.
i think the reason akashi and sayuri inspire me so much is because no matter what life throws at them, no matter how many times they stumble and fall, they always strive to do the right thing. you can't see it because the story isn't out yet, but i hope one day you will see it ☺️
Remember Ayumu aka daughter-in-law-chan? In between part 1 and part 2 of the story, she died. Her daughter Tsuzuki feels responsible for her death, which was why she ran away from home to go on an adventure in hopes of redeeming herself.
IIIIIIIIITS FUN FACT TIME BECAUSE I CAN'T SLEEP! :D
George is archenemies with Akio, Akashi's redheaded best friend! George is someone I never want to meet in real life, because he's cunning & manipulative but also really charismatic. Scary stuff for naïve ppl like me lmao https://t.co/8Kb424D5b9
Possibly the only character that I don't really like is Sayuri's dad, Hiroyuki. He's the reason Sayuri started being so against getting married, and just hating men in general. They both can't see eye to eye on things. Ironically though Sayuri takes after his stubbornness lmao
the number of headcanons i have if the three of them met is insane

She doesn't know her real family bc she can't rmb her childhood, so she never had a surname. Just accepted her life as a maiko and loved it even if she wasn't very good. Nothing can bring this queen down ✨
After experimenting with different styles I feel that I still love giving my drawings that slight retro flair. So I guess I'm still drawing retro but with a touch of whatever the fuck I want
