Hogarth adored this little dog and he features in his paintings often. Once he was even painted urinating on the portrait of one of Hogarth's critics.

Veronese's 'Feast at the House of Levi'

Artist was called before The Inquisition as he had originally named it 'The Last Supper'. Inquisition pointed out that there weren't dogs and monkeys at the Last Supper and therefore it was heresy.

Veronese wisely changed the title.
