I didn’t do many posters this year but I’m super proud of this BOUND piece, I think it’s one of my best posters
Etching and aquatint prints by American artist Kay Brown, 1970s, who co-founded the "Where We At" Black Woman Artists Inc collective in 1971 to support artists left out of the white-dominated feminist art movement and male-dominated Black Arts Movement
Paintings by American artist, poet, designer, and socialite Florine Stettheimer, 1920s-40s, known for her whimsical crowd scenes depicting her circle of friends and family, and bustling social life in New York City
Mixed media works by American artist Khari Turner, 2020s, who mixes his materials with water collected from oceans, lakes, and rivers that have either a historical or personal connection to Black history
She was the first portrait I did when I had this idea to create an ongoing visual record of women filmmakers I love and respect and want to be more commonly known/recognized. I love her personal style, and her films are challenging and revolutionary. She will be missed ❤️
put my MODERN GIRLS and LAIR OF THE WHITE WORM prints up for sale on etsy for all you 80s cult movie nerds out there
