The Junkyard Dog was blinded at the hands of Michael Hayes which took him out of action in 1980. Fans were in full support of JYD and totally hated Hayes, so much so that one fan even showed up to an event and told the JYD that he planned to shoot Hayes with a gun he’d brought.
