Happy weekend, friends! 🙌
While it isn't quite warm enough where I am for this kind of stand-up paddle & van life, it's unseasonably warm for an Ottawa January and I'm taking it all in.
Hope your weekend is full of fun, maybe some sun, and some fresh air. ❄️
Also, for fun on this #throwbackthursday - a little flashback to all the Allie Bike illustrations I've made! I seem to be shrinking 😂
Two new lil' caricatures of me to kick off the 2020 season! ✨
I make some of these every year and they typically get used in my marketing projects, including business cards and social media.
My first art of 2020! Sadie and Shep from Steven Universe Future. A great couple to represent a new year:
🔸 Acceptance & inclusion (Non-binary characters in media!)
🔸 Losing old angry emotions, exchanging for positive emotions
🔸 Looking forward to the future
🔸 Cute looks ✨
Here's a silly drawing for a Sunday: a redraw of a Sailor Moon screenshot!
I feel weird about screen redraws, but now that I've done a few I find they're a fantastic way to practice style development.
Who's your favourite sailor from the anime? Mine is definitely Neptune!
Woops! I had scheduled one last #DinoVember post for yesterday, but it never went out so.... better late than never!
I had to close out the month with my most favourite of dinosaurs - Parasaurolophus! This dino has been my favourite ever since I was a kid.
We're not done with #DinoVember yet! 🦖 Just a few more to go... today's a good one, ol' Edmontosaurus!
Edmontosaurus is a hadrosaur named after Edmonton, but that's not the only thing that makes them neat...
Today's dinosaur for #DinoVember is Therizinosaurus! A large theropod who lived in the late Cretaceous period. 🦖
This dinosaur's look is based on incomplete fossils, including forearms with gigantic claws (loaning to its name which means "scythe lizard"). 🦴
It's time for another #DinoVember - Meet Coelophysis! 🦖
Coelophysis is a small theropod from the Triassic period. It's also one of the earliest proper fossil discoveries - it was named in 1887!
