@cissyspeaks Ooh, I’ve actually been thinking of oldies Jade from Beyond Good and Evil and Kya fro Kya: Dark Lineage lately! I loved them both in high school. Both kick ass, especially Kya. She’s a girl rescuing her half-brother, all alone. And Jade was so cool, fighting and photo journaling.

Something about sharing your high school art going around? It's all pencil and ink, hidden away in my dad's house, but I scanned in a few a couple years ago.

No digital art in my time. I timidly taught myself digital starting '12. I felt embarrassed, and sad to leave pencils.

As of today I pay for my own health insurance and pension.

As a mom and an independent contractor who's made it to this point in her career and knows how steady work is not commonplace, I feel both proud and terrified.
