@NRO @philipaklein Superman, famously apolitical hero, created by Jewish working class children of immigrants.
What a difference a generation makes. I guess it's in character for 1992 Northstar to out himself by yelling at someone in the middle of a fistfight, but it's great that modern characters can be much more chill about coming out. Looking forward to seeing what's next for Jon Kent.
@tylerzonia Not strictly a memoir, but NUTS by Gahan Wilson is pretty much perfect at capturing childhood as it really is, not as most memoirists remember it.
@JavierHernandez Right before that, you had Spider-Man fighting Doctor Octopus two months in a row, but those were dramatically different covers. Nobody was getting these two mixed up.
Years later, I know that I bought at least one of these issues twice, since the covers are fairly generic "poster" shots, and Thor wasn't quite hitting a monthly schedule then. One glance at those Spidey comics and I can tell you what happened in each issue--Thor, not so much.
Glad that all of my co-workers have gotten their shots. Great work, team!
@EWDocJensen @sinKEVitch The book looked like this just a month earlier. Not out of place in an '80s Marvel comic, but nothing readers hadn't seen before.
Jon needs to stop getting his medical advice from Joe Rogan.
Every decade, @WalterSimonson comes along and does something incredible that completely changes the way we all look at comics, and he's still going strong.
Happy Birthday, and best wishes for a great year ahead!
