18/4/21: Crick FC (0) vs Jolly Abbott (1). Crick Community Sports Centre.
A beautiful morning with the wind turbines turning behind the far off hills. A nice pitch - best facilities of the league? - (They have covered team benches!)

11/4/21: Hilmorton FC (2) vs Rugby Celts (1) Dunchurch Cricket Club
The manager for the Celts was often out of his technical area - yelling at his defence ‘mark up’ and not to lose their ‘shape’. A hard fought and competitive game - Celts remain bottom of the table.

4/4/21: Caldecott Arms (1) vs Royal Oak FC (2). King George V Playing Field
Easter Sunday - rebirth? First match back after a LONG lockdown. Spring was in the air and people were out in the park. Everyone was happy to be out!

20/12/20: The Bell (3) vs Rugby Celts (3). Ashlawn Rd Rec.
The Bells regular goalie was injured in the warm up, so they played with 10 men. The draw gave the Celts their 1st point of the season. One of their supporters was sick on the sidelines - nerves or the night before?
27/09/20: Hilmorton (1) vs Community Relations (1). Dunchurch Cricket Club.
Huge oak trees and the Cricket sight screen set the scene for this closely played out contest.

20/9/20: Royal Oak Fc (4) vs The Bell Inn (2). Ashlawn Rd Recreation Ground.
Dog walkers, supporters a beautiful day - The last warmth of summer shone down as signs of Autumn emerged. @TheFootballPink @thesefootytimes @BleacherReport
30/08/20: Vic vs Dunchurch FC. Ashlawn Rd Recreation Ground.
Team mates shouting encouragement from the side lines. A straight red for #12 sin binned after a horror challenge. A dubious offside call from the line-o.

@FourFourTwo
I started just before the first lockdown March 2020. The future and what Covid-19 really meant to life across the world was unknown. On my daily walks I started painting the goal posts which punctuate our towns, villages and cities. Now these were stood in the empty fields alone.
Over the Covid-19 pandemic I started a body of work painting grass roots football. Through the highs and lows of 20/21 I wanted to capture the importance of the Sunday League matches in our culture and communities. Forget the Super League - the spirit of football is here ⚽️🎨👇
