There's a lot of discussion on what art direction means as some people seem to be under the impression that good art direction=good graphics. But it really means art style, color, creature design, world design, architecture, and more. It's not just graphics.

You only would have potentially struggled in 1 but as you saw above, a guide did exist for it. But by the SNES days we had much easier to get guides on top of Game Genie. EARTHBOUND EVEN CAME WITH ONE, I STILL HAVE IT.

I've really wanted to color a panel from Chainsaw Man for a while now, and I think this was the perfect one for me to do. Was fun to work with the wild lineart and blood. Scan from the official Viz release.

1997-Final Fantasy 7 aka the reason I got my parents to get me a PS1. Another game that's stuck with me all this time and the music still gives me chills. Runner ups:Riven, Megaman Legends, Megaman X4.

2011-Dark Souls because of course it is. While I feel these days it's not very hard and most the boss fights aren't all that great, the world design is still the best in the series. Runner ups: Portal 2, Skyrim, Bastion

2016-Dark Souls 3 obviously. While it had some of the weakest world design in the series, the boss design more than makes up for it. I think I have around 500+ hours between PS4+PC on it. Runner ups: Inside, Hyper Light Drifter, Persona 5.

2017-Hollow Knight. 2017 was insane for games and I was about to put BOTW but saw HK was 2017 and it was all over. A master class in Metroidvanias that's in my top 10 games ever. Runner ups: BOTW, Horizon Zero Dawn, Nioh, Samus Returns, Nier Automata, DQ11

2022-Elden Ring of course. Other amazing runner ups for 2022 were Monster Hunter Sunbreak, Final Fantasy Stranger of Paradise, and Stray. I'm a huge FromSoft fan and they delivered on everything I could have wanted.

Felt like drawing my WoL in a loose style, mostly drew the outfit from memory.

Got some commissions done today! They were both extremely fun to do! This is my first time drawing an Elden Ring character so Radan was a good time to draw. I'm still taking both bust and chibi commissions, pricing info is on my twitter.
