today I set out to design a monster under the concept of "giant" ("colossus", actually), and I realized 80% of giant-types in games have the same exact body proportions:

recently I read an edgar allan poe story I had never heard about before, king pest, and also found these amazing two old-timey fanarts (left by harry clarke, right by arthur rackham)
in capcom vs. snk, there's an image gallery of all the characters drawn by artists from each company, and it's nice to see the stylistic difference. capcom art is all about pose, gesture and movement, snk is realistic and "anatomic". I like the capcom style a lot more.
