I really think SB aphelios' expressive eyes are intentional. I hope it's meant to convey that this is finally an au where he doesn't need to take the noctum, so his 'dead eyes' are now shining and emotive. and perhaps he is mute because he embodies the silence/quiet of night

regarding the people in sett's splash art, men actually outnumber women 2:1 I hope this helps. also sett's lore has him fighting in the pit and visiting his mom but I know those are very easy to mix up with canonically fucking a woman so I understand the mistake
