With my art I transform violence into spirit

The surface is messy, scarred, torn, wounded — but the subject rises up to meet the higher self of the viewer

the higher potential in all of us

My goal is to help the viewer transmute pain into energy & potential

& I often take a piece back into the studio for further work, further ripening

Here I begin breaking things

It's always worrisome because it's very easy to destroy too much/ go too far

in that case, one has to start over, try to "salvage" something

in fact, this is inevitable; it always happens
