Today's cinema trip has been to see Wings of Desire (1987). I didn't know what to expect and so found it pretty powerful, a mediation on humanity through the eyes of Angels and the thoughts of everyday Berliners. Fully restored, it's like stepping into black and white Berlin.

Ended my Blake's 7 themed day watching... Blake's 7. Two standout episodes from 1980 yet very different from the usual style of the series. It must have been a strangely thrilling couple of weeks for any children or fans watching back then... (1/3)

The word 'iconic' gets banded about a lot in Doctor Who circles, but with the work of the late Chris Achilleos I think it's more than justified. He made every story look so bold, colourful and exciting.
