26 April 2022, we had just about begun sampling. We had walked perhaps a km or so when we chanced upon this pair of curious stripe-necked mongooses. They jumped this way and that, trying to get a better glimpse of us before scuttling off into the bushes.
The reason I love spotted deer “chital” is that they’ll always take note and give you a looksie when you pass by.
