Manga recommendation #23: Gokushufudou by Kousuke Oono. A very short-chapter comedy about the silly life of a former yakuza who's gone on the right path and has become a house husband. Not a heavy read in the slightest and actually pretty funny, too.
Manga recommendation #17: Sumire 16-Sai by Takeru Nagayoshi. Sumire is an ordinary high school girl going about her daily life - except that she's actually a lifeless puppet, and her ventriloquist is a strange old man. A surprisingly lovely school comedy unlike any other.
Manga recommendation #16: Rising Of The Shield Hero by Yusagi Aneko. In an industry oversaturated by bad series' from the isekai genre, Shield Hero really stands out with it's unique portrayal of how a main character might be realistically treated in an another-world-setting.
Manga recommendation #15: Dr. Stone by Riichiro Inagaki. A super unique shonen premise, an expressive and crazy artstyle as well as numerous interesting scientific experiments (that actually make sense) together makes this one of the most promising WSJ titles right now.
Manga recommendation #13: Dad, the Beard Gorilla and I by Sadaji Koike. Very sweet 4koma (four-panel comic) about very regular small family life at home, work and on days off. Mostly a basic premise done well, but has underlying serious and realistic themes that really get you.
Manga recommendation #12: Furou Kyoudai by Yuki Shiwasu. A very short but sweet and underrated story about twin siblings who can't get too apart from each other without getting overwhelmed by evil spirits. Good art and paneling, really makes you wish it lasted longer.
Manga recommendation #8: Great Teacher Onizuka by Tohru Fujisawa. An amazing and youthful story about unsolicited life lessons from a foolhardy guy who just barely functions as a teacher yet steals the hearts of his problem students one by one. One of the best I've ever read.
