Blaster basically shows up in the Transformers: The Movie to sell his new cassette partners. And honestly it's one of the most memorable moments in a very memeable and quoteable movie full of memorable set pieces. "NO WAY, TWO CAN PLAY!" #transformers

Let's do an Optimus comparison. You can see that the Prime and Beast Wars designs define their joints with mechanical detail, and the Animated design uses heavy black lines to define the joints. And G1 Prime... well... I guess he has elbow cut-outs. #transformers (3of6)

It's tempting to think "Yes they do! They do have knees and elbows and things!" but check out this old Gundam animation from the 1970s, then check out Starscream. Starscream has nothing defining his knee, or its bend. Just a line dividing the leg in two. (2of6)
